چکیده

This study evaluates the potential of oxidative fast pyrolysis (OFP) eucalyptus wood residues (EWR) for producing bio-oil to replace fossil fuels in lime kilns pulp industry. OFP is an alternative inert-atmosphere where separate heat addition stage not required. was studied by characterizing fuel using proximate and elemental chemical analyses, thermogravimetric analysis heating value. Then, experiments a pilot-scale autothermal fluidized reactor were done with EWR. Pyrolysis products gases, bio-char (heavy light). The gases burnt, energy used fluidization air. Heavy yield 30% 21.4 MJ kg?1 lower value indicate good applications. results model evaluate industrial-scale cases. Integration mill recovery boiler steam cycle allows easy considerable waste from process itself, as well combustion solid gaseous residues. Economic indicates profitability fine EWRs mill. A higher net present value, but longer payback period, obtained larger plant purchased feedstock. Stand-alone production found unprofitable.

Oxidative stress as an indicator of lower quality eucalyptus for pulp and paper industry

Background Wood is the most important natural and renewable source of infinite energy, but this is not their only function, it also has great significance to the buildings and other products [1]. Eucalyptus, the genus that includes more than 500 species, is among the key forest species planted around the world to solid wood, and mainly for the pulp and paper industries. Aiming at the sustainabl...

The Use of Mercury Intrusion Porosimetry to the Characterization of Eucalyptus Wood, Pulp Andpaper

Mercury intrusion is frequently used for the characterization of porous materials, giving assess to parameters such as porosity and pore size distribution as well as density (skeletal and bulk). In the pulp and paper technology field, measurements of wood porosity are important, for instance to anticipate the liquor impregnation ability in the pulping stage. With regard to pulp and paper, poros...

Oxidative stress proteins as an indicator of a low quality of eucalyptus clones for the pulp and paper industry.

Eucalyptus is a genus widely cultivated in many tropical and subtropical regions of the world as one of the main sources of raw materials for the pulp and paper industry. Identification of clones and selection of genotypes with desirable agronomic characteristics would be useful. We assessed eucalyptus full-sibs that varied in wood quality, using a combination of two-dimensional gel electr...

Variation of Wood Pulping and Bleached Pulp Properties Along the Stem in Mature Eucalyptus globulus Trees

The wood of a mature (40-year-old) Eucalyptus globulus Labill tree was characterized at different stem height levels (0%, 10%, 35%, and 50% of total height) regarding pulping, bleaching, and paper properties. Pulp yields increased upwards from 46% to 50%, and Kappa number decreased from 17.5 to 12.3 at 0 and 50% height, respectively. The estimated specific wood consumption ranged from 3.2 m odt...
